The end of summer vacation is right around the corner. School uniform shopping, time to start going to bed early, and no more underwear gang. One last month.

These are some things I have been working on lately. An embroidered pillowcase and some embroidered old photos. The photographs would make excellent gift tags, cards, or just really awesome wall art framed. I haven't had the chance to put some in the shop yet - but they will be coming soon.
But first I wanted to have a little giveaway, one to say thank you! It's been awhile since I had one of those.

So here is the nitty gritty:
The Winner will get the standard pillowcase embroidered in the picture above and one of the embroidered photos pictured as well.
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment telling me which photos you like the most and what you would do with it?
I will pick a winner randomly from the comments on August 23rd. The giveaway is open  closed to everyone worldwide. Goodluck!!!

Yesterday dear hubby and I celebrated 7 years of marriage. It doesn't seem that long. We went about our day pretty normally. I got a hair cut, spent time with the kids, and just enjoyed our day together. I've finished up a lovely embroidered pillowcase and worked on a new embroidery project that I'm excited to show you.
The pillowcase will be making it's way here for a long overdue giveaway.

Once a day, I take a picture. Just a moment - unscripted, unedited, and real. I was very inspired by Alain Laboile. His La famille collection is so free. Really capturing those everyday memories you wish you could hold forever.
While often I try to set up a photo, cropping out the mess of the desk on the right or the lone sock that lays on the floor, these are uncropped. They are real moments in my real everyday life.

We are in the heart of summer, where heat waves roll off the pavement and it's a three shower day just to stay cool. With a long holiday weekend I took advantage of my time. There was some flea market shopping, playing in a blow up pool, a new kitten (Topaz), and long walks around the neighborhood. Thorn has taken to every stick he can find, often trying to drag them home. The kids spend their days as the underwear gang. eating cherries by the bowl full.
My birthday was yesterday and we celebrated in the most simplest way. My mom brought over a cake, which I'm thankful for, as it is too hot to bake anything right now. I got a dining room table, a present to myself - now I just need to go on the hunt for some fun mix matched chairs.
Finally the heat wave seems to be breaking, thunderstorms are rolling in. Maybe it will actually feel cool enough to pick up a needle and thread.
